Jeff, hate to tell you this, but I worked in the electronic publishing field
as a digital-rights management specialist.  PDFs are not secured documents.
Their mechanisms prevent only the most casual of attackers; it's not in any
way a robust security mechanism.  If you want secured documents, I'd suggest
getting a copy of the latest working-group draft of the Open Electronic Book
standard and the work of the OEB DRM WG.
