There is a BIG difference between knowing/possibly knowing somethingToo true, they were warned, and as you say, how could we possibly even hope to know where to look? Satellites, perhaps? Nope. The CIA have this thing about using tech for everything. I know from personal experience that the Mark1 eyeball is the king. As you infer above the Mark1 eyeball and the man attached to it stands a better chance of dealing with asymmetric threats than anything GE Motorola or any of those other companies can make. Every single Special Forces and Field Intelligence Op I have ever talked to agree with me.
is going to happen and knowing THIS would happen. Without specifics, ie,
cracking into the cell responisible and getting the plan, there was NO way to
stop this.
The thing that concerns me is that they hijacked these planes with... Satellites can't detect knives and box cutters.... but a guy in humint could have helped to ferret it out and foil the plot... I figure these guys were supplied by a couple of their people planted on a cleanup crew who put the knives on the aircraft.
"small knives and boxcutters."
No bombs, no machine guns......small knives..........
If there were Air Marshals on those flights, there would have been a short lived hostage situation where the plane stayed on the ground instead of a potential loss of 10,000 souls. The good ol' Mark1 rides again.
