I'm glad it wasn't the case. Something like the Sears building would
have been another prime target. I worked in Chicago for a while, so I'm
glad to hear that it remained physically unscathed.
OTOH, I've worked in NYC as well, and still know people both there and
in Washington. An ex-girlfriend (I even asked her to marry me at one
point) works in one of the buildings near the WTC that featured in many
of the pictures from the scene. Another friend works in the Pentagon,
but wasn't in the building at the time. Fortunately I've heard from them
all in the past few hours, so I know they're OK.
