Scam on SecurityArms

SecurityArms.com (a wonderful resource for photographs of weapons, if
you haven't already visited there) is currently running ads for a
piece of software called Evidence Eliminator. It's hawked as being a
computer-privacy tool. The only problem is, it's not. The Evidence
Eliminator crew has a long and infamous reputation in the computer
security community (of which I'm part).

The real hypocrisy is that the ad proclaims itself to be a "consumer
scam alert".

If you hit SecurityArms.com anytime, be warned; they're now devoting
significant amounts of ad space to scamware.

If you're thinking of buying Evidence Eliminator, please talk to me
off-list. There are tools to protect your privacy, some of these
tools are really spectacularly good, and almost without exception all
of the spectacularly good tools are free for the taking.
