RE: An Interesting News Bit

Reminds me of something I read a while back; I think it was in the book
"Don't Laugh, Sergeant Major".

Anyhow. It's in Turkey and, following a very successful joint forces
exercise in beach assaults, NATO (and allies) engage in a 'friendly' game of
football (the BRITISH football, not the American version of Rugby, lol)
against the Turkish Forces.

The match is going fairly well, when one of the British officers notices
that the tackles are getting a little 'rough' (don't forget - in the UK
Armed Forces, the score is completely unimportant - it's how many of ones'
own team WALK off, compared to the other side that's important), so calls
out "Remember they're our friends, lads!" - to which a definitely antipodean
accent comes floating over - "Bugger friendly! REMEMBER GALLIPOLIS"!
