The major research project I am currently working on is a time line for all known opperating systems that are not in the Unix tree.
The operating system tree has moved location to www.oshistory.net. This copy is kept here for reference but may not be the most recent.
| Currently there are over 700 OSes and versions (plus a dozen GUIs and Utilities) but this is really just the tip of the iceburg. There are large holes in embedded OSes, main frame OSes and bespoke systems.
