There are easy solutions to both problems: to get the books, your friend can
ask someone else to buy them for him, and then pay that someone. The
overlays can be photocopied from your rulebook -- the clear sheets used for
overhead projectors are excellent, and also don't stick to paper, other
sheets, etc. like the ME overlays do :)
