I don't really agree with this. These aren't like the Beechcraft
or Pup's that I've flown before. Faced with the mass of buttons, lights,
dials, &c that is the flight deck is probably enough to un-nerve any
amateur pilot. Anybody with a rudimentary knowledge could probably fly
them straight, but anything beyond that needs some competence even with
all the magic of autopilots. Three out of the four planes hit their
targets, and the fact that the second aircraft to hit the WTC was
turning into its target suggests that its pilot knew how to handle the
craft. I've heard rumours that another group of arabs arrested allegedly
en route to another hijacking included a qualified pilot.
Well, now we know they
were trained, HOWEVER...i would argue that they wouldn;t CARE about the
buttons and lights......the yoke and rudder are identical to all
aircraft...albeit a little bit sluggish due to size. And the plane
that turned into the tower, almost missed it....if it was trying for the
center, it impacted on the SIDE of the tower.
Anyway.....
It did almost miss but
I think it did more damage that way. It was the second hit that brought
it's tower down faster...
Maybe the pilot had
second thoughts and his co-pilot helped him over them?
