Best thing to do is a prequel; a game run with
pre-gen characters, simple storyline and the expectation that most if not all of
the characters will not make it to the end, if some do they can keep the
characters and continue in the regular game. This works well for setting
up horror adventures and for new folks there will not be the pressure of trying
something in the new system and getting killed, it allows the players to 'play
around' with the system more, learning it as they go.
