That's nothing.  In college I had to program using punched cards.

In 1997.

Under the tutelage of Dr. Jacobs, who didn't trust any computer made
after 1970.  With so many switches and diodes and transistors there
were simply too many things you had to take on faith.  According to
Dr. Jacobs, Hollerith cards (punched cards) were the only proper way
to educate youngsters about computer science, because that was the
only way you could keep everything straight in your head.  The most
perfect representation of the Turing Machine, he called it.
