  I would expect a chainsaw to be rather noisy and slow even for entry. 
 even with a carbide blade which if it existed would cost a mint a fire 
door would be a substantial obstacle.  without a carbide blade any 
finishing nail is bad for the blade and a possilby lethal projectile.
  While movie makers like whackos running about with chain saws i am 
pretty sure they would in fact make lousy melee wpns.  lots of inertia 
for instance makes them hard to swing.  relatively easy to choke one 
with clothing for instance.  also the wound characteristics may leave 
something to be desired unless you can force the victim against 
something to saw on him.
