Given the action (or rather, lack of it) you describe, it's unlikely to be the DPS (RDS are same breed, different
animal); they travel in marked vehicles, and stop traffic with solos (motorcycle cops) at junctions et al, so that their
charges can get from point A to point B without a single stop inbetween.

Terribly civilian, actually, old boy!

By the way, DPS cars are marked police cars, but red, instead of white. Solos are on normal Police motorbikes, but carry
Glock 17s overtly on their belt kit, and NEVER go about on their own - they're always in pairs at the very least.
