Why not? Off the top of my head, here's the current small arms used in the 
Netherlands:

Police: Walter P5 pistol, MP5 SMG
Armed forces: C7 and C7A1 rifles (the more "elite" types of unit, like 
Marines and Airmobile troops, have scopes, others iron sights), C8 carbine, 
MAG GPMG, Minimi LMG (this one is just entering service, IIRC), Glock 17 
pistol
