Current thinking is that real-life AET pistol rounds (glaser, etc.)
are not very effective because they produce an embarassingly shallow
permanent cavity. Fair enough. But it seems that in reasonably
heavy rifle calibers (say, 7.62), calibers that will generally
greatly overpenetrate a human body, these things might be quite
effective. Of course you still have the well-known problem
that even the slightest obstruction will probably block the shot,
but for certain purposes (sniping, assassination) I could perhaps
see their usefulness. ME still over-rates them, though.
So...anyone have any thoughts on the suitability of the .300 WSM
caliber for military sniper work? Way overpowered?
