Acclimation is one thing... knowledge, skills, and
gear is another thing all together.

Being the Texan and loving the heat, I tend to do very
well in extreme heat.  You learn biologically how to
deal with it, and you learn academically how to deal
with it too.  You drink much more water, you learn how
to stay out of the direct sunlight, and you dress
accordingly.

I did a stint at a research facility in the Antarctic.
 I still HATE cold, but having the right knowledge,
training, and the right gear, made life a great deal
easier.  I've done snow camping and survival training
in Maine, as well.  I would have to say that it is
easier to deal with cold (because you can counter with
gear and training) than you can with heat.  Heat,
IMHO, is a biological training exercise.
