Even during that war, there was a lot of objection against the Americans'
use of 12 gauge shotguns for trench clearing. I believe that a clause did
get put into the Geneva Convention to prevent their use in future; still,
as the use of any and all poisonous gases in war was prohibited by the
Hague Convention as well, I don't think this makes much of an impression...
