For a look at modern developments in aircraft-launchable EMP weaponry,
please turn your attention to this month's Popular Mechanics magazine.
There is a two-page article detailing the use of a carefully designed
explosive device that uses the energy of the blast to power a wire coil,
that generates the necessary EMP pulse.  It is speculated that a terrorist
organization with modest resources and the right information could build
an effective EMP device for around $400.  A scary thought.
