Re: Running the games (WAS: Re: ISG)

According to Roger Stenning \(G1LIW\), on Tue, 02 Oct 2001 the word on the street was...

I try to do the same thing, but because I have the habit of making OOC comments myself
from time to time, I can't always get away with it... For a while now I've been
attempting to enforce my group to use a "time-out" symbol whenever they're saying
something OOC, and it's working okay so far -- though to the extent that there's one
player who sometimes does this when it _is_ his character speaking... (And naturally,
I'll ignore anything from him that appears to be IC while he's doing the time-out
symbol :)

The one I remember best was in a Shadowrun adventure, where the PCs were dropped into
Chicago, which at the time was suffering from a rather nasty case of insect spirit
infestation; one of the PCs had got himself a few LAWs before going in, to deal with
this threat (he thought they might help...). He's got one of the LAWs ready (just in
case...), and asks if there's anything moving around. I make a comment that there's
something scurrying down the street, upon which he jokes, "I'll shoot it!" Too bad the
other PCs were standing right behind him...
