Night Vision

Hi Guys,

Here a new question. How sensitive are night vision devices to sources of
visible light. I know that the three generations each are able to handle
flashes of light better with each innovation, but what are the effects of
each and how sensitive exactly are they? When I was in the Army my use of
night vision devices did not bring me to encounter bright visible light as
we only used them in the darkest of conditions (I know that a OPFOR I
observed smoking a cigarette with a third generation NVG lit up the whole
top have of his body plain as day.

But what about muzzle flashes with the other generations? Do they shut down
or temporarily blind the firer? Also of those with flash protection how
fast, in game terms does, does a night vision scope take to recover to the
point that the firer can acquire and engage another target?

Just wondering.
