Re: European Military Not Up To Par?

Being a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan for the last 20+ years, I was very
pleasantly surprised at how well NZ evoked the feel and look of Middle
Earth. Obviously Tolkien was envisioning England when he wrote LOTR, and so
I had my doubts when it was announced that New Zealand was where the films
were going to be shot, but it turned out to be just about perfect.

My wife and I wanted to go to NZ for a vacation someday anyway (having
already been to England and loving it), but now the opportunity to see some
of the places where LOTR was filmed just adds to the motivation.

(that and the chance, however remote, of maybe getting to see a big
Architeuthis getting pulled out of Kaikoura Canyon :)
