In the case of shooting paper targets 300m is not a great distance, but all
things in context, I believe. In this case we are talking about characters
engaging in armed conflict. As quoted by Mr. Stenning, in the text book the
average British Infantry soldier is expected to hit/suppress targets out to
400m, but try that when they are shooting back. When you hear that very
distinctive k-thund noise pass you by, you know they mean to kill you quite
dead. Accuracy (among other things) always suffers when the lads are in it.

In my opinion 300m is very far away for the average Infantry soldier on the
sharp end, especially "for f**king real" as one SSgt I knew was wont to put
it.

As for the Combat Experience Skill, I whole heartedly agree, we can't let
the munchkins get away with that. It is a decent reflection of the
experiences of the veteran character and also describes the "getting around
a warzone" skills a soldier learns when in the arena.

As for Scopes and the time it takes to line them up. I have been thinking
about this and have a suggestion I would like to bounce off you all (If this
has been suggested already, please let me know)

What if one was to use a simple formula such as:

(P - 4)/4 = |N|

Where:
P is the power of the scope (Scopes of 4x or less do not need time
calculations)
|N| is the number of rounds required to line up the shot in absolute
numbers.

i.e.. the 24 power scope on that Barret M82A1 we discussed earlier...

(24 - 4)/4 = |5 rounds (10 seconds)

Feed back is more than appreciated.

Thank you
