I've tried to stay out of this thread, as it never ever goes anywhere, but
this remark I can't leave unreplied-to... You do realize you are basically
saying that any country with firearms laws is a fascist dictatorship,
right? If you didn't, then I suggest you think before you type next time, and be
very careful about making comparisons.
The reason I'm saying this is because the country I live in is probably
one of the most liberal in Europe, if not the world (and I don't mean that
in the American meaning of the word "liberal," which seems to be roughly
"left-wing socialist commie bastards" -- rather, I mean it as in "civil
liberties"). Still, it is very difficult to legally own a firearm here, but
we do have a government that is both democratically elected and appears to
care for its citizens -- completely without the threat of a popular
uprising, which you seem to consider one of the prime reasons why people
should be allowed to own firearms.
Comparing _anyone_ with Nazis is something you would do well to avoid in
future. It may "just" be name-calling in the US, but in other parts of the
world feelings run a little deeper about this subject...
