Basically the reasoning behind my proposal. If they feel it is so worthless, would they not be willing to sell it, even for a couple thousand dollars? The only reason would be if they thought someone else would eventually pay them more money for it. Since its (commercial) value is dwindling over time, who exactly is going to give them more for it five years from now?

It seems that what happens far too often is that IP holders get bound up with the idea that the IP is worth a huge amount of money, and hang onto in in some vague hope that someone, sometime, will give them "what it's really worth". Typically, no one ever does, and the property is stranded and eventually forgotten about. It sounds like HG may have a far more realistic view of their chances of ever making money from this property; they might be willing to make a deal.

But I guess it's a moot point given the apparent complete lack of interest in my proposal from the list, let alone HG.
