PC Deaths (was Showtime weapons)

"SG-1, yep I ran ten episodes of it with ME, it was cool, I'll give you a
hint, NEVER KILL A PLAYER CHARACTER, give them the idea that you will, but
don't, if you show then the extreme force that there fighting then,
hopefully, they will pull there heads in quikly, or else they will find out
the hard way......."

Gasp!

Splutter!

Never kill a PC! You're having a laugh, surely.

In one of my games the only PC to survive had been hospitalised early on in
the adventure. An object lesson was taught that day, car crashes and
explosives don't mix. It made for an interesting start to a campaign, the
next adventure was finding out what happened to the previous cell of
operatives.

I've also had almost as many retirements as deaths though, with one player
retiring two characters consecutively after losing arms, one to a shark and
another to .50bmg.

Having said all this I don't like to kill PC's randomly, I'll generally
punish stupidity, not bad luck.
