Here is what I have for adventure ideas.  They are
just ideas, and not full blown adventures that are
typed up or anything.

1. In DC, we have a serial killer killing students in
a campus for hearing impaired students at Gallaudet

There have been two.  The suspect in the first killing
was in a different state during the second killing. 
BTW, same dorm building for both murders.  I was
thinking that the University would hire a security
firm to provide physical security to guard the
specific dorm building and surrounding, as well as
supply investigative skills.  DC has a very poor
"close-rate" for crime.  Additional challenges are
that most of the students and faculty at this
university are deaf or severely hearing impaired. 
Someone in the group will need ASL.

2. Many universities have research facilities.  Rogue
nations could lure or kidnap students away to work on
high-tech weapons or legit industries that could
easily build such weapons.  From my experience (being
one of these geeks and working with geeks), the best
way to lure these types away would be women, money,
power, and adventure.  You would need to play into
their lack of positive self-image and lack of
empowerment.  Parents of the "lost children" would
hire a the group to rescue them from these rogue
nations and to break the ring here in the US to stop
others from falling victim to this nation.

3. Certain Universities, like MIT and CalTech, pull
the brightest students and the brightest faculty. 
Assassinations of these individuals (individually or
mass bombing) to hobble the US's technological growth
could be a long-term plan of terrorists.  The players
could be called in to break this ring and protect
students and faculty.

4. *This idea is racist, you are warned* A group of 
students are at a university doing a research project,
and are working for a terrorist group.  This could be
US Militia, White Supremicists, Chinese/Arab/Columbian
infiltrators, etc.  They are working on a project with
university funds (US grants) and when done, are going
to hijack the project and smuggle it out to the
terrorists.  You could be hired because someone
suspects something, or after the hijacking, where you
have to track down the new device and
recapture/destroy it.  (I work with a number of people
of oriental, middle eastern, south asian, and hispanic
decent.  I am a mix of many of these types as well.  I
do not endorse the idea that any group of immigrants
at a university are working for terrorists.  This is
an adventure idea ONLY.)

5. You can't have college without drugs.  Students
have been murdered, apparently by Gang Members, and
apparently are drug related.  Things eventually trace
back to the Columbian Cartels and the students were
killed as retribution against their parents' political
actions, business dealings, etc.
