Or...it might be more cost-effective for a large company to keep the 
lousy trucks for most routes and have a few 'specials' that they send 
into an area if a lot of their trucks are getting hit.  These would be
heavily armored trucks crewed by gun-happy enforcers (not the $7.00 an
hour guys) just begging for the local gang to give them an excuse to 
open up.  Kind of like a World War I Q-ship.  Gee, now where are they 
going to hire a crew of gun-happy enforcers?

I see you're way ahead of me here. :)  Man, I hope the gang doesn't find
out about the set-up, they might have some countermeasures of their own.
